File Browser

Browse and download files in a QuickStack volume without shelling into a container.

QuickStack can launch a temporary File Browser for any volume so you can inspect and download files from the web UI, without opening a terminal.

Open the file browser

  1. Open the app in the Project Canvas and go to Settings → Storage.
  2. In the Volumes card, click the folder icon (View content of Volume).
  3. Confirm the Open File Browser dialog. The app must be stopped first, so click Stop App and Open File Browser.
  4. When the File Browser Ready dialog appears, note the generated credentials and click Open File Browser.

The File Browser opens in a new tab. Sign in with username quickstack and the generated password shown in the dialog.

The app is stopped while browsing QuickStack temporarily scales the app to zero to mount the volume safely. Remember to start or redeploy the app when you are finished.

Download volume content

To download an archive of a whole volume without opening the file browser:

  1. Open the app and go to Settings → Storage.
  2. In the Volumes card, click the download icon (Download volume content).
  3. Confirm Download Volume Data and click Download.

The volume is packaged as a ZIP file. The app must be running.

Limitations

  • The folder and download buttons are hidden for shared volume mounts and for users without write access.
  • File Browser runs as a separate temporary pod using filebrowser/filebrowser:v2.31.2; it is not part of the app's own container.
